How do you celebrate holidays?
Holidays hold a special place in my life because they provide moments to pause from the daily routine and reconnect with family, friends, and traditions.
For me, celebrations are less about extravagance and more about creating warm memories.
The first step is always preparation. I love the atmosphere that builds up before a holiday—decorating the home, preparing traditional dishes, and playing festive music.
The scent of spices, the glow of lights, and the anticipation in the air make even simple moments feel magical.
Cooking together becomes a family activity, where everyone contributes—whether by chopping, stirring, or just taste-testing. It’s not only about the food but about laughter and teamwork in the kitchen.
On the day of the holiday, I focus on togetherness. We usually start with prayers or rituals, depending on the occasion, to remind ourselves of the values behind the celebration.
After that, the house fills with relatives and friends. Sharing meals, exchanging stories, and giving small gifts are ways we express love and gratitude. The laughter of children playing around adds to the joyful spirit.
For me, holidays are also about kindness beyond the home. I try to share meals or donate to those in need, because no celebration feels complete if others around us are struggling.
A small act of generosity can multiply the joy of the season.
In the evenings, I like to slow down—sometimes watching a festive movie, playing family games, or simply sitting together and talking. These quiet, heartfelt moments are as important as the big events.
Ultimately, holidays are not just dates on a calendar; they are reminders to cherish relationships, practice gratitude, and celebrate life’s blessings.
No matter how simple or grand, what matters most is the love and connection shared.
